Homemade Taco Seasoning

Homemade Taco Seasoning

If you’re like me and love the flavor of taco seasoning but you’re not that crazy about some of the questionable ingredients in some of the seasonings, why not make your own?

This Homemade Taco Seasoning is an excellent spice blend to add to your spice cabinet. I made this blend with the Southwestern Quinoa Stuffed Peppers in mind. What is great about the blend is you can add it to so many different dishes to liven them up because of its sweet yet smoky flavor profile. I personally love it on freshly popped popcorn, grilled veggies, and of course, these quinoa stuffed peppers.

Because I like to keep my spice blends fresh, this recipe only yields about 5 tablespoons. If you think you’ll be using it frequently or in bulk, feel free to double all of the ingredients so you have plenty on hand when you need it.

Homemade Taco Seasoning
Serves: 5 tablespoons of seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  1. Combine all ingredients together and store in a tight container.
  2. Use seasoning within 6 months.
