Guacamole Wonton Cups

Guacamole Wonton Cups

The Guacamole Wonton Cups are a real crowd pleaser and perfect for when you’re having company over. They are simple to make, feature fresh ingredients, and they are quite elegant looking. They don’t contain meat, dairy or gluten (if you use gluten-free wrappers) so they’ll satisfy even the pickiest eaters.Β I made these little guys for Superbowl Sunday and they were a big hit.

You should be able to findΒ wonton wrappers at your local grocery store. If you’re gluten-free or would like to make your own wonton wrappers, here is a simple recipe for Gluten-Free Homemade Wontons.

The nice thing about the wrapper is it’s really versatile. I might try a portobello mushroom and goat cheese wrapper soon. I’ll let you know if I do.

    1. Trish, these wonton cups are so bright and festive. There’s a flavor combination to suit everyone–I love that. I like them all but if I HAD to choose, I would go for the caramelized onion, gorgonzola and walnut ones. I can’t resist gorgonzola!

      I hope you’re having a great week. πŸ™‚

Those are some really great fillings for those cups, and you really could do so many others, what a wonderful idea. I hear the stars are aligned for Pittsburgh and Big Ben this year, everything is coming up 7’s for them, your godfather may have a very good day!

  5. Hey Trish! CONGRATS! Fellow Top 9er. Ummm, is Super Bowl this weekend cause I’ve been too busy taking pictures of food and dropping things on the floor of my kitchen to notice. Ooopsie. These look awesome, I will have to impress the family with them!

  6. Congrats on making the top 9, Trish! These 3 wonton cups are all fantsatic. Looove the carmalized onion and gorgonzola. I’m not big on football so my only excuse for taking part in Superbowl Sunday is the food!

  7. I love your variations! Have you tried the wrappers for dessert? I just brush them with coconut oil, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, and pop them in the over for a few. I bet they’d also be great stuffed with seasonal fruits and some ricotta.

  8. I love the avocado + tomato grape ones. If I could, I’d have one right away. (Or rather two.) Oh, and I wouldn’t reject the Gorgonzola/caramelized onions/walnuts either πŸ™‚

  9. Umm….yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love all of these absolutely gorgeous ideas. What a fantastic and easy way to feed a bunch of people really quickly. Somehow around superbowl time football fans are always the hungriest and I love new ideas. Thanks for sharing these!

  11. I love little wonton cups!! I made some a few weeks ago, but used a different filling. I’m so excited to have more fillings. The cups are so easy to make and I love the “crunch”. I’m all over these!! Nicely done, Trish, and congrats on the Top 9!

  12. Trish I saw this picture on Top 9 and I was immediately drawn to the photo — I love that shot how the guac is practically spilling out of the photo into my mouth πŸ™‚ Absolutely breathtaking shot — actually all of these are! Blessed to know such talented people like you, have a great weekend!

  13. Wow do these wonton cups look & sound amazing. Though I currently have no plans to watch the super bowl, I kind of want to make these anyways. I’ll cheer for the Steeler’s though, just for your godfather who inspired this post. As a thank you, for such delicious recipes being posted πŸ™‚

  14. I love this idea and these combos sound right up my alley! Almost makes me want to go watch the Superbowl…I said almost. I’d probably just whip these up at home and eat them by myself while everybody else cheered for…whoever’s playing the football game.

  15. Great minds… I was thinking of doing wonton cups as well. We’ve made them once before, using a Thai chicken salad filling that was made from pulled roasted chicken, scallions, sesame oil, fish sauce, lime juice, roasted peanuts, slivered cabbage, and a couple other things. Quite tasty and fun to eat. It was just my fiancΓ©e and I at the time, but I can imagine these going over well with a crowd! And you have some really delicious fillings here.
